Helping children with reading:

Children should be using Lexia at home for at least 30 minutes per week. Some children may need more depending on their needs. See link below. Ask your teacher for your login details if you have lost them. Pupils in Year 6 should be working on levels 17 and 18.

Feel free to download these helpful tips which suggest ideas to help your child with reading at home. If you require a print out of this, please let us know and we will happily send one home.

Click here: Tips for reading at home

Remember to keep up your reading at home. You are always welcome to choose a book from class or from the School Library. This must be looked after really well.

A comprehension skills lesson will take place weekly in School.

Helping children with maths:

Another piece of on-going homework is to make sure that tables are learnt so that their recall is automatic (no thinking or working out required). See link below to Times Table Rockstars.

Children should be completing 20 minutes per week on Maths Bootcamp (see below for link, username and password).

Feel free to download these helpful activities which suggest ideas to help your child with specific areas of maths. If you require a print out of these, please let us know and we will happily send one home.

P.E

PE is on Thursday mornings. Could you please ensure that your child has a labelled P.E kit (including names written on the inside of P.E pumps/trainers) at all times. This can be taken home at half term to be laundered. The kit can contain joggers and a warm top.

Children will have additional PE sessions in Autumn Term at the Sports Centre for gymnastics.

Please remember to remove all earrings and other jewellery before coming to school.
