The school day starts at 9:00am and ends at 3:20pm.
We ask all children to aim to be at School for 8:55am to avoid lateness. Any children arriving after 9:00am receive a late mark. Arrival after 9:30am results in an unauthorised absence mark for the morning session.
If a child is unable to come to School due to ill-health, we ask that the School Office is informed before 9:30am on the first day of absence. Please use the Study Bugs app. If this isn't possible, messages can be given face to face, over the telephone (including leaving a voice message), through the School Gateway app and by email.
A child should not return to school within 48 hours of a vomiting or diarrhoea episode resulting from a sickness or diarrhoea bug.
Headteachers only authorise holidays in term-time in exceptional circumstances. See our Attendance Policy for more details. If you wish to seek authorisation for a holiday, please read this letter and complete the attached leave of absence form.
All unauthorised absences, including holidays that have not been sanctioned by the headteacher, are accumulated and parents who fail to ensure regular attendance of their children at school can be issued with a fixed penalty notice (under the 1996 Education Act). The amount is £80 (per parent per child) if paid within 21 days and £160 (per parent per child) if paid between 21 and 28 days.
Did you know that if a child's attendance falls below 90% for an academic year, they are classed as a persistent absentee? This equates to half a day off a week. If a child's attendance was 90% or less every year of their school life, this would be equivalent to losing at least a year of education!!
